AltruArt: transforming social responsibility through art in the DR.
AltruArt is an art brand with social impact, a partner of Fundación AYUDA, created to discover new talent across the many branches of art and, at the same time, contribute to social causes in the Dominican Republic through Fundación AYUDA.
We work with an altruistic purpose. Our greatest interest is for the work of Dominican artists to be valued and appreciated, and to give new talent the push it needs to be recognized. Through donated or consigned works, we organize exhibitions, auctions and events, and we channel part of the proceeds to Fundación AYUDA (Ayuda.do) as donations, to support different social causes.
Our donations to partners are never in cash: we deliver them as materials or direct contributions to the cause, so there is no room for games with how the funds are used. It is our ethical shield and the reason every movement is recorded in this system.
To teach Dominican society the importance and value of art, inviting people to collaborate with a cause and working to weave art into the community.
To become the most important cultural center in the Dominican Republic.

Horacio Read
Trained in photography at Altos de Chavón, in collaboration with Parsons, with a focus on portraiture and photojournalism. An artist at heart and an entrepreneur by profession: a graduate in Business Administration (PUCMM), an MBA from Universidad de Palermo, and two decades founding projects. Social commitment is nothing new either: as a FACCI Hero he ran for the cause of childhood cancer, something he now channels through art and Fundación AYUDA.
AltruArt was born from a personal inspiration: someone who taught us to look at art, and at life, in the small details almost no one notices.
