Frequently asked questions
The essentials on buying art at AltruArt: originality, certificates, payments, delivery, returns and how your purchase supports social causes.
Are the works original?
Yes. Every work in the catalog is a unique piece made by hand by its artist, with its own record (technique, year, dimensions and the artist’s career). We do not sell reproductions or prints.
Do the works include a certificate of authenticity?
Yes. Every work sold includes a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist or, when it is a posthumous work, by their legal representative.
Terms and conditions →What happens if a work turns out not to be authentic?
If an independent appraisal determines that the work is not by the attributed artist, we refund 100% of the amount paid plus the reasonable appraisal costs. This guarantee has no expiration date.
Returns policy →How do I buy a work and what payment methods do you accept?
Browse the catalog online and, on the work’s page, start the purchase or write to us by WhatsApp at (809) 501-8864. You can pay by bank transfer or in cash. If you want to secure a work while you complete the payment, we accept a reservation with a 20% deposit.
What currency are the prices in?
Prices are shown in US dollars (US$). Payment is charged in Dominican pesos (RD$) at the current exchange rate. Published prices do not include ITBIS.
Can I return a work?
If the work received does not match the published description (for example, a different technique or measurements), we refund the full amount paid after the work is returned and we cover the return shipping. Claims are handled case by case.
Returns policy →Do you deliver throughout the Dominican Republic?
Yes, we coordinate delivery of the work anywhere in the country. The handling and transport details are agreed upon when the purchase is finalized.
What part of my purchase supports social causes?
AltruArt allocates a portion of the gallery’s sales to Fundación AYUDA (Ayuda.do), which applies it to causes of health, food and social assistance in the Dominican Republic. Donations to the partner foundation are never in cash: they are delivered as materials or direct contributions.
See the causes →Can I see the works in person?
We are opening our venue at altaCASA (Av. Roberto Pastoriza 208, Naco, Santo Domingo). In the meantime, the full catalog is online and we arrange visits by appointment through WhatsApp.
